Educação e desenvolvimento sustentável na agenda 21 brasileira

This paper is a critical analysis of the norms regarding education in the Brazilian Agenda 21, which is presented as a planning tool for sustainable development that encompasses environmental preservation, social justice, and economic growth. The Brazilian Agenda 21 states that education must promote social inclusion and contribute towards Brazil’s insertion in a globalized economy; this is a condition for sustainable development. I have observed that the proposals for education in the Brazilian Agenda 21 are “functional” since they insert the country into the same socioeconomic model which holds the root of unsustainability. Key words: Education and Sustainable Development; Brazilian Agenda 21; Sustainable Development.Downloads
