In this paper the feeding diet of Genyatremus luteus was studied, contributing to disposable knowledge for comprehension of the tropic web from São José de Ribamar coastal waters. The individuals were captured between the months of April and September of 1999, using as fishing art the line hand and hook, motor boat, normally used by local fish men. In laboratory analyses were studied qualitatively and quantitatively for each item making the relationship with the studied stations and lunar cycle. The results demonstrated that the most of the stomach content was “totally full” and there wasn’t an specific difference between stations and lunar cycle studies. The more frequent categories of food in the study were algae (39.2%), Crustacea (21.8%), Bivalvia (15.2%) and Echinodermata (8.0%). The indentified crustaceus were: Decapoda, Isopoda, Tanaidacea and Amphipoda, beyond of the rests like quelipods, telson and carapace. The spectrum of food itens observed, as well as the way of these are distributed in stomachs suggests that G. Luneus is an opportunistic species, which feeds on the more abundance itens occurring in the environment.Downloads
