Composition and abundance of fish at Lagoa do Peixe National Park, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil and comments about companion fauna of decapods crustacean. This work describes the fish and decapods crustacean inhabiting the estuarine lagoons of the Brazilian Lagoa do Peixe National Park. Seasonal sampling (2001 and 2002), using several distinct sampling gears, in addition of a literature review showed that the fauna in the Park comprises 73 fishes and 14 decapods species. Most fishes (51 species) and three crustaceans were first records for this Conservation Unit and 9 species of fishes were first records for Rio Grande do Sul estuaries. In spite of the low abundance of Ariidae, or even the absence of the marine cat-fishes genus Netuma, the fish-fauna of the lagoon is very similar to the other estuary of southern Brazil. Regarding the decapods crustaceans, it is worth register the occurrence of Chasmagnatus granulata with is currently considered vulnerable at the Rio Grande do Sul state.Downloads
