Aristaeopsis edwardsiana is a deep-sea shrimp registered at depths from 400 - 900 m. In Brazilian coast, this species comprises one of the most valuable fishing resources. By examining the diet of Aristaeopsis edwardsiana was found that three individuals had plastic debris on their stomachs. The individuals were captured by industrial deep-water trawling in continental slope of São Paulo coast (Southern Brazil) in 2005. This appeared to be the first record of ingestion of plastic debris by this species.Downloads
